When you give towards our Bridging the Silence Project, you help us to enable a future without barriers for children with hearing disabilities in Khon Kaen and the region.
Our ambition is to enable a future without barriers for children with hearing disabilities in Khon Kaen and the region. Deafness is a silent disability, you can’t see and it’s not life-threatening, so it has to touch your life in some way in order for it to be on your radar.
Our initial action plan focused on enabling the deaf children to achieve their rightful place in society. After discovering that we could prevent many children with a hearing impairment to become deaf and mute, we decided to concentrate more on new born detection.
This project has been initiated and will be implemented in conjunction with the Faculty of Medicine at Khon Kaen University and the Srinagarind Hospital. We are very thankful that 3 Rotary Clubs in Western Australia and the RC Rutland, Vermont, USA joined us for this Global Grant Project and help us to advance this important cause.
In 2015 we launched our Bridging the Silence Project to support the Sotsuksa Deaf School for setting up a classroom Loop system. In 2016 we decided to focus on deafness prevention and started to organize events and fundraising activities to achieve the required budget.
Achievements and Impact. By the end of April 2019 we have raised over 530,000 THB, We provided support towards the Sotsuksa Deaf school and are now preparing the Global Grant Project for a New Born Screening Program.
